Michael was a loving son and brother, a sports enthusiast and an extremely loyal friend as well as a truly dedicated firefighter who was loved and cherished by all who knew him.  Where “Mikey” was, there was laughter.  Michael had many passions in his life, but at the top of his list were his life  long dream of becoming a firefighter and helping the children of the College Point Roller Hockey League.  At age 7, Michael began playing hockey in this league and continued to play and integral role in the success of the league not only as a player but as a coach up until his untimely death on September 11, 2001

In memory of him, the “Elferis Family Foundation” and this website has been established.  At the current time this website is still under construction.  Please come back again where we will have more information about Mikey, organized events, and more.
